The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
It’s a privilege and without reservation that I introduce this great book to you… The Last Lecture by Professor Randy Pausch at Carnegie Mellon University. Prof. Pausch was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, and this book is based on his Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams speech that he delivered in front of 400 people at Carnegie Mellon University. You can read more about his journey to fight pancreatic cancer at Prof. Randy Pausch’s home page. In his last speech, he wanted to share with us how we should lead our lives by pursuing our dreams, seizing the moment, and overcoming obstacles and odds that may impede our march towards achieving our goals: “Brick walls are there for a reason: they let us prove how bad we want something.” He dedicated the speech to his children — it’s heartbreaking and what an extraordinary man.
